Welcome to the fifth Asian Regional Space Settlement Design Competition and the semi-finals of the Fifteenth International Space Settlement Design Competition (ISSDC)!

This event is an industry simulation for teams of High School students, set in the future. The competition is organized with the main motive of teaching industrial skills to students.

The competition renders a virtual experience of working in an Aerospace industry. It provides a complete organizational hierarchy for the students to compete in. The team is asked to propose a design of Space Colonies or Cities where more than 10,000 people live and work.

This is for the fifth time that the Asian Semifinals is being organized. The team winning shall participate in the finals of the ISSDC to be held at the Johnson Space Center, Houston, USA in July, 2009. The International Competition website provides all the information that is helpful for being successful in this competition.

Qualifying Competition teams may be of any size. The eight teams that qualify for the Semi-Finalist Competition will be limited to 12 members each, with two adult advisors. Teams are advised to select members with diverse experiences and/or interests; successful designs balance structural integrity, operating efficiency, use of computers and robotics, and pleasant living conditions.

Prior competitions have shown that it will also be helpful to have at least one good artist and/or one good writer on your team. The eight Semi-Finalist teams will be informed Priority mails. The Semi-Finalist teams are expected to arrange their own round trip transportation to Om Shanti Retreat Center, Gurgaon, India. Lodging and meals will be complimentary during the Finalist Competition for each team's twelve students and two advisors. The students should be strictly in Schools as on March 2008 to participate in this competition.

Competition organizers retain rights to publish or otherwise use any materials prepared in connection with this Competition. Your team must register with the Competition organizers to receive key materials not included here. Only entries from registered teams will be considered for advancement.
