Found: 1572
Iraon (IA) coarse Octahedrite with silicate inclusions. This meteorite was first discovered in 1572 by Spanish explorers in Chaco, Agentina. Thousands of pieces have been found near some impact craters, the largest weighing over 33 tonnes.
This piece is from a new find, miles from the original field. It was unearthed from closed forest, having been buried several feet underground.
