
Semi-Finalist Competition in India (For Asian Region):- Ten (10) Semi-Finalist teams and five (5) Runner-Up teams are clubbed to form five competing companies. The five companies will meet in India to prepare designs in an intense two-and-a-half day version of the Finalist Competition at Gurgaon, India. Each company can have upto 40 student members.
After the teams are identified; paired up teams are sent contact information and excerpt of the new scenario. Teams can start preliminary research and preparation prior to arrival to the competition venue.
The teams arrive at the competition on thursday evening, and participate in the introductory events. Friday is dedicated to various management and team building sessions. Saturday morning starts with teachnical sessions for Structural Engineering, Infrastructure and Operations Engineering, Human Factors, Automation Engineering and Management. After which, teams have almost 23 hours to work on their design presentations. Each company prepares a 50 (or less) slide presentation, and presents in front of a judging panel within 35 minuntes followed by a 15 minute Q&A session.
Based on the design presentations, the judges select the winning company. The Semifinalist teams from the winning company are then given the honour to represent Asia at the International Finals.
The eight (8) remaining Semifinalists and the runners-up team (part of the winning company), are invited to re-submit their entries in the International Qualifying Competition.
